Dr. Michael Hovey, Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. Michael Hovey performs the adjustable gastric banding, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery and the sleeve gastrectomy.
 
Dr. Hovey was born and raised in Iowa.  He obtained his medical doctor degree University of Iowa in 1997 and completed his residency from Iowa Methodist Medical Center in 2004.  His medical training includes an internship at Creighton University in 1998 and then he entered the United States Air Force in Flight Medicine until 2000.
 
Prior to coming to Alegent Health Immanuel Medical Center, Dr. Hovey worked at Central Iowa Veterans Hospital in Des Moines and was a Staff Surgeon in the United States Air Force.
